Hertsmere Leisure commenced trading in February 2002 and is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity managed through a Board of Trustees. Established to provide and promote community sport, recreational and arts services, it presently manages facilities owned by the Councils of Hertsmere, Hertfordshire, Three Rivers and Milton Keynes


The organisation prides itself on its commitment to the delivery of ever improving high quality services in a dynamic trading environment. It holds a number of related awards and has increased its customer base since its inception whilst improving its financial efficiency.

Its overall aims include both the continued development of services within the communities it operates whilst also expanding its business base in a controlled and manageable way. It values the concept of partnership working and already works, amongst others, with the Hertsmere Primary Care Trust promoting health-related initiatives. Its work is governed by the terms of its memorandum and articles of association and in accordance with the leases it holds with its partner Councils. The Mission statement is:
